Want to get married in grand style during the Pride Parade? Or do you have friends who are getting ready to marry and would like to have tens of thousands of admirers as witnesses for their ceremony?

Bay Quackers, the San Francisco Duck Tours, is inviting gay/lesbian couples to be married on board its amphibious duckboat, a WWII amphibious landing craft (www.bayquackers.com) during the 38th Annual San Francisco PRIDE celebration 2008 on June 29th Sunday @ 10:30 am.

Marriage Ceremonies will be performed by the Duck's Captain, who is also an ordained minister. Please contact Maxi at duckhq@hotmail.com and tell the Quackers why you want to get married on board during the pride parade. Bay Quackers is excited to celebrate love, commitment and marriage for all. Happy Pride!

All of these weddings will be videotaped and each couple will receive a dvd copy of their service. Plus, this promises to be the biggest story of the Parade, so you or your friends might end up on the news world wide!

changes 2 Muni....what do you care???

the following is from a local org. email. anyone care/opinions? chance to speak up!

I would encourage everyone to attend these meetings. Somes changes proposed are to combine the Folsom and Bryant line on to Harrison St. There is also a plan to add electrical muni lines on 24th. So far not to many people are happy with this.

Help Us Transform Your Muni System

Beginning this April, the Transit Effectiveness Project (TEP) will
share preliminary proposals for Muni service changes and reliability
improvements. The TEP's preliminary proposals aim to transform Muni
into a first-rate transit system that reduces congestion, decreases
pollution and gets people where they want to go efficiently and
safely. Changes have been proposed for most Muni routes ranging from
increased frequency on our busiest lines to route eliminations where
we have the fewest customers.

To help us shape these proposals to make Muni into a transit system
that works for you, we've scheduled 11 community meetings throughout
San Francisco. With your help, a revitalized Muni system will not
only benefit current transit customers, but will improve mobility for
everyone who lives, works in or visits San Francisco. Interpretation
in Cantonese and Spanish will be provided. There will be a Fast Pass
raffle at each meeting.

Twilight stroll

Hi folks,

A former housemate and I used to enjoy taking a twilight stroll, a promenade, down Valencia Street and loop back around Mission Street, most nights after dinner. It reminded me of the scenes in french novels (I'm thinking "Dominique") where pairs of friends walk up and down the river, percolating pleasant conversation while catching glances from approaching pairs, with winsome smiles.

Yes, the Mission is much more dirty than the Seine, but I'd love to see the Mission's morsels, WHO ACTUALLY LIVE HERE, show those window-dressers that we don't need to buy our glamour, and that the sallying off to bars is sallow.

Please, stranger, take a stroll with me. Please, visit the sidewalk with a dear friend. Walk up and down the boulevard at dusk. (And duh, don a parasol or a fedora, and sparkles that can catch the last glow of el sol). Bring a thermos of tea and tarry, pouring it into a dainty thimble as you blink back into the vitreous land of pretenders.

They ask "Should Hilary Quit" or other issues about the Democratic candidates. But in reality, they are a radical right organization in Washington that is trying to put a positive spin on everything Bush... Like, it is Congress that is responsible for high gas prices not Bush. They trick you to taking their poll and then they bombard you emails full of lies and try to spin the truth. The organization is "Americans for Tax Reform." Their website address is atr.org. Check if out if you don't belive me. These people are unreal. Here are some titles of their propoganda:

Aren’t Fuel Prices High Enough!?!?

Take Action now to put the brakes on higher energy taxes!

How are we supposed to afford to take our kids to school and get to work when the liberals in Congress slap even more taxes on our fuel costs? GO »

Liberals Are Stealing Your Freedom, Crushing Your Jobs & Killing the American Economy
Don’t Allow the Left to Raise Taxes on Energy! GO »

Tell Your Congressman to Oppose the Tax Increase of the Week
Latest Tax Hike Will Force Companies Offshore GO »

House Liberals Vote Next Week to Tax Your Pension GO »

Don’t allow free speech to be silenced!

Amendment to kill the Fairness Doctrine to be voted on today! GO »

They try hard to blame the Democrats for everything Bush did and didn't do and now want to convince you.

Take a stand and let them know that they are full of s**t!. Call or fax them at 202-785-0266 off and 202-785-0261 fax
Stop whining about whats wrong and make your voice heard!!

Hey all--

She's leaving the state and has to get rid of A TON (maybe literally) of stuff and will be selling cheap. She has a little girl, so there will be kids' stuff...lots of books especially. Come on by for some great finds!

What sites do you love for sex-positive content? (for the ladies, but feel free to chime in, guys!)

We have this thing called the interweb, and have access to all manner of information..including our favorite topic, SEX. But I find that there are very few good sites out there to glean information about the world of sex and kink.
I've asked friends. I've done searches. So now I'm coming to you to ask: what sites do you like? Where do you read / view / research all things sexy on the web?

Any and all advice is appreciated, but I'm looking for suggestions from women in particular. What turns you on? What sites draw you back for more? Do you learn from them, or just get amped up and ready for more?

THANKS, oh Great Oz...
PRESS RELEASE (.doc)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — There is a fifth dimension—and a Fifth Season!—beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as small as The Dark Room’s stage. It is the middle ground between lighting directors and sound designers, between science and superstition (and sometimes comedy), and it lies between the pit of man's fears, the summit of his knowledge and on Mission Street, between 18th and 19th Streets. Cross over into Impossible Production’s Twilight Zone: The Plays, Season V.

“Applauded wildly,” writes SF Chronicle, “Played for sheer fun!”

Twilight Zone: The Plays, Season V airs at The Dark Room Theater, 2263 Mission St, between 18th and 19th Streets. Episodes run April 4-20, 2008, Fridays and Saturdays @ 7:30pm, and Sundays @ 3pm. Check the website for details.

Rod Serlings include: Chris Kukenbaker, Cameron Eng, and Sadie Lune.

Episodes include: "The Hitchhiker", directed by Maria Picar, "Aliens Among Us", directed by Julia Baldassari-Litchman and "The Time Element", directed by Crisis Hopkins.

IMPOSSIBLE PRODUCTIONS, and our home The Dark Room, is a place for anyone to come to when they have ideas—big or small—and nowhere to realize them. We're a tad more off-beat than community theatre and a skosh more accessible than many artist cooperatives. We welcome both high concepts and low brow sensibilities; we try hard to not to take ourselves too seriously and invite you to do the same.

WHAT:
Humanitarians, pirate enthusiasts, music buffs and movie fans are invited to San Francisco’s historic Verdi Club for an evening of live music, dancing, and star gazing at the first annual Pirate Ball and Silent Auction. Raise a pint and sing along to nautical musician Skip Henderson and The Starboard Watch. Then groove to local indie rock group The Plasterkatz. Delight in the clever antics of the infamous Jack Spareribs, the evening’s Master of Ceremonies, and bid on over $5,000 worth of limited edition collectibles and memorabilia. Win a raffle prize or revel in the company of Barbossa's crewmembers from the hit Disney movie Pirates of the Caribbean; Curse of the Black Pearl: The forceful Bo'sun who slapped Miss Swan - Isaac C Singelton Jr., the creepy Koehler who choked Captain Jack through the bars of his cell - Treva Etienne, and the sadistic grenade tossing Jacoby - Vince Lozano. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their best pirate gear and enter The Best Dressed Pirate contest. 100% of the event’s gross proceeds will go to The Children’s Hospital and Research Center of Oakland.

WHO:
Pirates for Children’s Hospital of Orange County (“Pirates4choc”) was started by Evan Pagay, an Orange County DJ and Jack Sparrow impersonator, and Matt Stone, owner of Sea Wolf Clothing Company in Huntington Beach. Evan and Matt gathered a group of piratical celebrities and entertainers to donate their time to entertain, give out toys, and play games with the children and their families in the hospital. The event was so successful, the group decided to launch a similar hospital visit and fund raiser in Northern California under the leadership of Craig Appel, local Bay Area pirate entertainer.

The warm wind is blowing off the valley, pulling dry anions away from places like Stockton where we should expect arson and/or meth lab fires, and I'm betting it will add up to exactly 2 Mission District homicides by sunrise.

I'll put $1 on a 2 block radius around 18 & Valencia, and another $1 on a 2 block radius around 25 and South Van Ness.

Any takers?

New Hunter S. Thompson Documentary

Dear Friends,
This is a VERY funny and poignant film director Blue Kraning made about Hunter S. Thompson. You can follow this link to where the trailer is posted up on Tribe:

people.tribe.net/ef16dbc2-...e40916ff6d

or you can follow the other links to his website www.gonzopatriots.com to see the trailer and buy the film.

I went ahead and copied the text from the tribe page below so you get a better idea of the work.

Please support the spirit of independence in which this film was made AND BUY THIS FILM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much Love To All,
Lisa Ferguson (aka Petunia Maple Cake)

New Hunter S. Thompson Documentary
This is the trailer for the fun-loving but poignant film that is a tribute to Gonzo journalist, Hunter S. Thompson, and a document of how his legacy continues to live on in the hearts and minds of his fans. Blasted!!! follows the many "Gonzo Patriots" across America that volunteered their personally owned artillery to fulfill the good doctor's last wish to have his ashes fired from a cannon. Before Johnny Depp became involved with the ceremony, and paid over 2 million dollars for a professional fireworks company to blast his friend's ashes from a 200 foot tall 'Gonzo fist,' an essay contest was held by the Aspen Daily News (at the request of Hunter's family) to see who would be available to provide the service of firing his ashes. Over 50 private cannon owners applied and though these letters were published in Harper's magazine, these brave men and women, who had come forward to fulfill the dying wish of their hero...were eventually forgotten.

DVD's for this film can be purchased at www.gonzopatriots.com

Blue Kraning, Los Angeles based documentary director and Emmy Award winning writer, has just released the DVD of his film, Blasted, The Gonzo Patriots of Hunter S. Thompson, which recently premiered at the Starz Denver International Film Festival and the Rotterdam International Film Festival.

Three years in the making, this film is a tribute to a great journalist and renowned physician. Kraning says the film, “is intended for any fan of Hunter S. Thompson or just anyone who likes to see large stuffed animals blown to bits by a homemade Bowling Ball Cannon fired by a man in a purple polyester suit, or see transgender Civil War re-enactors blast their aptly named mountain howitzer...’Lucrecia,’ while reciting Hunter’s wisdom. I made this film entirely as a one-man-band, in the tradition of Gonzo individuality and artistic freedom, so I will be distributing the film entirely by myself by selling the film off my website at www.gonzopatriots.com”

"Hunter S. Thompson embodied the American ideals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Blue Kraning's Blasted!!! is a twisted, anarchic, fun, and funny tribute to Hunter, those ideals, and Americans who don't merely mouth the Declaration of Independence, but live it." - Michael Simmons, The Huffington Post

“These are not the famous actors, politicians or even journalists. These are Hunter's readers who are “his people” in the purest sense, an army of thoughtful citizens who are inspired by Hunter's work and who do a fine job of carrying on his legacy.” –Anita Thompson, wife of the late author, Hunter S. Thompson

A New Year's Resolution? Free Yoga Classes

Question: Ready for that "New Year's Resolution?"
Answer: ? (Didn't think so).

Well thanks to the "Grotto" at Sports Basement - you have a "free" chance to improve your well being ... ..

)n 01 December 2007, Sports Basement joined together with local yoga teachers to give a yoga gift to the community.
Next yoga class:

• Sunday, 30 December 2007 - 10:30 - 12:00 noon. -
• Yoga Flow - with Annie Leguennec
• http://www.sfgoju.com/

• Sports Basement --San Francisco
• 1590 Bryant St.
San Francisco, CA
(415) 575-3000
http://sportsbasement.com

And due to the very high turnout of yoga students, speed walkers, coach potatoes, Fat Tire Beer Specialist, snowboarders, and then some . . . Starting January 2008, Sports Basement will host free yoga classes each & every Sunday from 1:00 - 2:30pm.

Yoga Teachers of various styles (Iyengar Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Vinyasa, Raja Yoga, Kundalini, Anasara Yoga, Yin Yoga, Power Yoga, Anna Forrest Yoga, etc.) will present their unique connection with the yogic path.

Check back each month and see who’s in the mix – free yoga classes by yoga teachers of all walks of life. Official Website: http://ynottony.com/yoga1.htm

And, if you are a yoga teacher (or a soon to graduate yoga teacher) looking to share your knowledge, practice karma yoga (community service), and put yourself in the public eye, come join in & volunteer your services making yoga affordable for every individual. Pick one Sunday per month . . Teach as many months as you would enjoy doing. . . .

Yoga teachers will receive a $25.00 gift certificate from Sports Basement (per yoga class) & can use the platform as a way of promoting themselves and their unique yoga experience.

Regardless, it's a grand opportunity to start the year on the right path, meet some like minded individuals, see life in a different light, & calm the mind.

* Yoga teachers of all schools of yoga are invited to teach.
* Yoga students of all levels are invited to attend.

For more information or to get your name on the yoga teacher's list - contact: Iyengar Yoga Teacher, tony at:: http://ynottony.com/contact.php

1. Send a brief Yoga Bio
2. Send a list of your available Sundays in January, February & March - 2008.
3. Send a link to your website, personal profile (Myspace, Zaadz, Tribe, Yelp review, etc) or something which speaks highly of you
4. Start advertising your yoga class

Wishing the best of all possible worlds,

I have a healthy stack of Mission Greenbelt street posters to get out, and I need your help to spread the word about two exciting events happening next week at Mission Greenbelt Campaign Headquarters - San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery - 401 Van Ness Avenue at McAllister.

Monday & Tuesday November 12 & 13 from 5 - 6 pm
Come down to the SFAC Gallery and get as many street posters as you want to post, and put them up in the Mission District.
If you don't have time, please consider sending the attached .pdf to your email list.

Next week's events:

Campaign Kick-off with Special Guest Speakers
Join us for an evening of rallying speeches, free-form performances and conversations about the possibilities of grass roots action.
Speakers include Josiah Clark, Kevin Danaher, Mark Sanchez and more. . .
Thursday November 15th from 5 - 8 pm

Sidewalk Landscaping & Permitting Workshop
Come learn about the Sidewalk Landscaping Permit from Maria d'Agostino of the Department of Public Works, Bureau of Urban Forestry.
Get your hands in the soil & help us install a native plant demonstration garden outside in front of the Gallery.
Saturday, November 17th from 12 - 3 pm

About the Mission Greenbelt project:

The ultimate goal of the Mission Greenbelt project is to inspire Mission District residents to grow an urban earth artwork of continuous native plant sidewalk gardens connecting Franklin Square Park to Dolores Park. This project requires community engagement, partnerships with city agencies and local organizations as well as outreach and education.

Now the Mission Greenbelt moves into stage two. I have received support from the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery to transform their Gallery space into Mission Greenbelt Public Awareness Campaign Headquarters. The Campaign aims to make San Francisco residents aware of the Sidewalk Landscaping Permit, show them how to build sidewalk gardens and teach them about the ecological benefits of native plants. Headquarter is the central meeting place for campaigning, hands-on workshops and school visits and is full of artwork related to the Mission Greenbelt.

Thank you, and have a beautiful weekend!

Amber

Hey everyone,

The Marsh is a non-profit theater located in San Francisco on Valencia st. We are small and are working towards beginning a network online to help bring in new talent and new patrons. We've been around for 18 years and are a breeding ground for new performance. Focusing on solo performance, but also branching out to others, we pride ourselves on being a place for performers to come and have an opportunity to display their work in front of audiences.

So we would like to grow our network! If you would like to learn more about The Marsh please visit www.themarsh.org. And if you like what we're doing, add us as your friend and help us get ourselves out there a bit more. Your help and support is greatly appreciate as we all raise the awareness and appreciation of the arts!

Thanks!

Political Post: Yes on A, No on H

The Mission will be prohibited from adopting a neighborhood plan like that just adopted in the Market-Octavia neighborhood if Prop H passes. We're looking at even worse service on the 14-Mission if Prop A loses. Please vote Yes on A and No on H. Thanks!

Vote Yes on A because it is *real* Muni reform. It's comprehensive: it provides funding, labor reform, streamlines the city's transportation bureaucracy, and mandates the first ever practical department-level climate action plan. If you believe in transit, and want to avoid service cuts and fare increases in next year's budget, vote YES on Proposition A.

Vote no on Prop H, the so-called "parking for neighborhoods." It's actually "icnrease parking by 5X for downtown office buildings" and dump 20,000 new vehicles on neighborhood streets. It rewrites 60 pages of planning code and is so full of loopholes it could provide unlimited parking for Hummers. Crazy.`

Is this working? what is going on here? tribe is having the biggest brain fart of any online program that I have ever seen!
I will be sad to see it go if that is what has to happen. I have met a lot of great people and have been so well connected through tribe and especially this one!

Zombie Alert Tonight Civic Center 7:30pm

Good citizens of San Francisco, this is your FINAL WARNING.

There will be a ZOMBIE ATTACK TONIGHT!!!

When: 7:30pm Thursday 10/11
Wear: Duct tape on torso to indicate participation
Where: The NW corner of the Main Library
Larkin Street, by Fulton
The large metal sculpture (aka "The Double-L Gyratory Zomby Attractor")
Google Maps: http://tinyurl.com/2xoj6u

Many of you were already taking precautions to stay far far far away
from that area already due to the San Francisco MAYORAL DEBATE going on
at the EXACT SAME TIME. Hopefully the attack will be subdued before the
the debate is completed and the hundreds of attendees leave the building
through the single exit pointed directly at Larkin and Fulton.

Those good citizens, though likely disenfranchised and disillusioned,
are not disembrained, and may thus prove IRRESISTABLE to the shambling
cerebrophillic horde.

If defeat is unsuccessful, an unknown party has offered to capture as
many zombies possible inside a bus, and drive them all to a classified
area (in the Mission) for complimentary "embalming fluid" afterwards.

- - - - - - -

A recap of basic zombie mob procedures & etiquette:

Show up at the meeting point on time. Arrive dressed as either a zombie
(fake blood, torn clothing, vacant stare) or a zombie victim (place a
piece of duct tape somewhere visible upon your person, and wear clothes
that you do not mind having torn and bloodied). Act like zombies. Attack
and "convert" victims. (If you have it, bring extra blood and makup for
conversions.) Shamble where the mob shambles. Have fun, but be
respectful of innocent bystanders and private property.

1. If you are wearing duct tape on your torso, the mob will attack you,
ruin your clothes, eat your brains.
2. Zombies will not get blood on innocent bystanders or their things.
3. Zombies will leave private property reasonably soon after being asked.
4. Zombies who don’t exhibit these behaviors will be beaten into shape
by their fellow horde.

what do you do when someone craps on the sidewalk in front of your apt? (and I'm not talking doggie-doo)
I'm seriously grossed out.

The answer I'm looking for is, do I have to go shovel the Sh*t or is there some city service that patrols this sort of nuisance?

thanks

Hey folks,

I've decided to finally make the jump from pedestrian/muni commuter to bicycle commuter but am intimidated by the prices I saw on the bikes in the window of the shop down the street. ($2000 & up, yikes!)

I don't need anything fancy. Is it even possible to get a new or used bike for less than $750 somewhere in the Mission?

What should I look for? I haven't had a bike in 20 years and feel clueless.

Mission Gym?

Hi,
I have decided to final try and get myself in some kind of shape!!

Anybody recommend a gym in The Mission?

There is a new one opened on Valencia at about 19th but it doesn't look that good.

Pedestrian Hit by a Bus at 24th and Harrison

While waiting for the 48 bus on 24th st. a couple of days ago, I witnessed (with a blur... as my eyes are bad and I was about 2 blocks away) a pedestrian get hit by the bus that was approaching, and I later heard that he died.... pretty disturbing!

I didn't actually see how he got hit though... if he ran in front of he bus or whatever... I was wondering if anyone might have heard any information on it?

Artist Discussion Salon & CELLspace Call to Arms

We have been planning this discussion on arts and media production for some time but it's even more appropriate in the face of what is going on. Keep your eyes peeled for the new Executive Director of Black Rock Arts Foundation, joining us for panel discussion!

Artist Salon and Reception for the Expo for the Artist and Musician
Thursday, September 13th 7:30-10:30
CELLSpace (2050 Bryant)

free admission
free drinks and snacks
arts and media panels - discussion and Q&A

live music - visual art show
puppetry workshop(canceled due to CELLspace woes, see below)
sewing class

This salon is part of the lead-in for an astounding event happening at SomArts that weekend, designed to bring artists, musicians, and the people who make it all happen together to meet each other and talk about their work. At CELLSpace we will have an art show in the gallery, puppetry and sewing workshops in the loft, musicians, free drinks and food, and panel discussions. The discussions will revolve around the ideas of producing arts, media, and change from a non-profit and for-profit perspective. What are the benefits of each format? How can artists navigate the world between the two for maximum freedom and maximum funding? Bay Area heavies from both sides of the fence will discuss why they have chosen the structure that they have and how they use it to get what they want.

BREAKING NEWS - CELLspace is facing massive crisis and needs your help! We will give the microphone to someone from the organization who can tell you all about what is going on and how you can get involved. Get your news fresh from the trenches. We love this community resource and want to fight to keep it! http://pandorastrunk.com http://artsandmedia.net/expo

Health Care Reform

Just wanted to post this link.

Dunno if anyone here is tracking these reforms, but it's worth noting that per the letter that BC (Blue Cross) sent me as one of their insureds) that this site is actually supported (and maybe run by) BC...they indicate in the letter that if i don't help prevent the passing of these reforms that "hard workers" like me who have health insurance will have to pay more when all those "sick lazy poor people" start being given coverage through legislative reform...fat healthcare pigs.....

Legislators are taking public comment...might be worthwhile to get involved and do some digging if any of you have health care concerns....
i wouldn't go so far as to say that we should do the exact opposite of what the site suggests, but the fact that an evil corporation is suggesting one course of action does suggest that the other direction is more likely to benefit us as consumers (especially those who cant afford health insurance currently)
the Blue Cross link is below.

Great Way For The Whole Community To Make $$$$$$

YOU KNOW THAT YOU SPEND AT LEAST $6.00 "EVERY PAY
PERIOD" ON USELESS STUFF, ME TOO. SO I THOUGHT, WHAT THE HECK, I'M GOING TO TRY ONE OF THESE "SCAMS". NOW TO MY AMAZEMENT, I AM CHUCKLING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK WEEK AFTER WEEK WITH My PILES OF 1$ BILLS. I AM HAVING FUN AT THE SAME TIME AND WISHING THAT I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS SOONER! THIS IS LONG, SO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ IT ALL NOW, JUST "COPY AND PASTE", IT IS
SOOO WORTH IT! DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, JUST TRY IT!
How to turn $6 into $6,000!
READING THIS COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE! SO JUST DO IT! This really works!
Hello, I’m like a lot of others out there who have
financial woes and I decided to try something new. If it works for me then I will be able to get myself out of a very difficult financial situation. Please read and see what results another got, it's pretty exciting!
It REALLY CAN MAKE YOU EASY MONEY!! IT WORKS!!!
BUT YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW IT TO THE LETTER FOR IT TO WORK!!!!
I found this on a bulletin board and decided to try it. A little while back, I was browsing through newsgroups and came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands of dollars within weeks with
only an initial investment of $6.00! So I thought,
"Yeah right, this must be a scam", but like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it said that you send $1.00 to each of the 6 names and address stated in the article. You then place your own name and address in the bottom of the list at #6, and post the article in at least 200 newsgroups. (There are thousands)
No catch, that was it. So after thinking it over, and talking to a few people first, I thought about trying it. I figured: "what have I got to lose except 6 stamps and $6.00, right?" Then I invested the measly $6.00. Well GUESS WHAT!!... Within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was shocked! I figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about $25.00. By the end of the second week I had made a total of over $1,000.00! In the third week I had over $10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth week and I have made a total of just over $42,000.00 and it's still coming in rapidly. It's certainly worth $6.00, and 6 stamps, I have spent more than that on the!! Let me tell you how this works and most importantly, why it works.... Also, make sure you print a copy of this article NOW, so you can get the information off of it as you need it. I promise you that if you follow the directions exactly, that you will start making more money than you thought possible by doing something
so easy!
Suggestion: Read this entire message carefully!
(Print it out or download it.)
Follow the simple directions and watch the money
come in! It's easy. It's legal. And, your investment is only $6.00 (Plus postage)
IMPORTANT: This is not indecent; it is not illegal; and it is virtually no risk - it really works!!!! If all of the following instructions are adhered to, you will receive extraordinary dividends. PLEASE NOTE: Please follow these directions EXACTLY, and $50,000 or more can be yours in 20 to 60 days. This program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants. Please continue its success by carefully adhering to the instructions. You will now become part of the Mail Order business.
In this business your product is not solid and tangible, it's a service. You are in the business of developing Mailing Lists. Many large corporations are happy to pay big bucks for quality lists. however, the money made from the mailing lists is secondary to the income, which is made from people like you and me asking to
be included in that list.
Here are the 3 easy steps to success:
STEP 1: Get 6 separate pieces of paper and write the following on each piece of paper
"PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST."
Now get 6 US $1.00 bills and place ONE inside EACH of the 6 pieces of paper so the bill will not be seen through the envelope (to prevent thievery). Next, place one paper in each of the 6 envelopes and seal them. You should now have 6 sealed envelopes, each with a piece of paper stating the above phrase, your name and address, and a $1.00 bill. What you are doing is creating a service. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL! You are requesting a legitimate service and you are paying
for it! Like most of us I was a little skeptical and a little worried about the legal aspects of it all. So I checked it out with the U.S. Post Office (1-800-725-2161) and they confirmed that it is indeed legal! Mail the 6 envelopes to the following addresses:
#1) D.Blakeman 7400 Glenleaf #179 Shreveport, LA 71129
#2) J.maxey 355 N. Manilla, Fresno, CA. 93727
#3) C. Lyons P.O. Box 69645 Los Angeles, CA. 90069-0645
#4) RJ K. Murpay 850 E. Walnut #173 Grapevine, Tx 76051
#5) Candice Messinger 5216 Old Powell rd. Holly Springs, NC 27540
#6) Tim DeMeerleer 105 N. Main st.Rear Kennett, MO 63857
STEP 2: Now take the #1 name off the list that you see above, move the other names up (6 becomes 5, 5 becomes 4, etc.) and add YOUR Name as number 6 on the list.
STEP 3: Change anything you need to, but try to keep this article as close to original as possible. Now, post your amended article to at least 200 newsgroups. (I think there are close to 24,000 groups)All you need is 200, but remember, the more you post, the more money you make!
This is perfectly legal! If you have any doubts, refer to Title 18 Sec. 1302 & 1341 of the Postal laws. Keep a copy of these steps for yourself and, whenever you need money, you can use it again, and again. PLEASE REMEMBER that this program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants and by their carefully adhering to the directions. Look at
it this way. If you are of integrity, the program will continue and the money that so many others have received will come your way.
NOTE: You may want to retain every name and address sent to you, either on a computer or hard copy and keep the notes people send you. This VERIFIES that you are truly providing a service.
(Also, it might be a good idea to wrap the $1 bill in dark paper to reduce the risk of mail theft.)
So, as each post is downloaded and the directions
carefully followed, six members will be reimbursed for their participation as a List Developer with one dollar each. Your name will move up the list geometrically so that when your
name reaches the #1 position you will be receiving thousands of dollars in CASH!!! What an opportunity for only $6.00 ($1.00 for each of the first six people listed above)
Send it now, add your own name to the list and you're in business!
---DIRECTIONS -----
FOR HOW TO POST TO NEWSGROUPS
Step 1) You do not need to re-type this entire letter to do your own posting. Simply put your cursor at the beginning of this letter and drag your cursor to the bottom of this document, and select 'copy' from the edit menu. This will copy the entire letter into the computer’s memory.

Step 2) Open a blank 'notepad' file and place your cursor at the top of the blank page. From the 'edit' menu select 'paste'. This will paste a copy of the letter into notepad so that you can
add your name to the list.
Step 3) Save your new notepad file as a .txt file. If you want to do your postings in different settings, you'll always have this file to go back to.
Step 4) Use Netscape or Internet explorer and try searching for various newsgroups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites, discussions.)
Step 5) Visit these message boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting the text of this letter and selecting paste from the edit menu. Fill in the Subject, this will be the
header that everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a particular group, click the post message button. You're done with your first one!
Congratulations...THAT'S IT! All you have to do is jump to different newsgroups and post away, after you get the hang of it, it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup!
**REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200**
That's it! You will begin receiving money from around the world within days! You may eventually want to rent a P.O.Box due to the large amount of mail you will receive. If you wish to stay anonymous, you can invent a name to use, as long as the postman will deliver it.
**JUST MAKE SURE ALL THE ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT. **
HOW IT WORKS:
Out of 200 postings, say I receive only 5 replies (a very low example).
So then I made $5.00 with my name at #6 on the letter. Now, each of the 5 persons who just sent me $1.00 make the MINIMUM 200 postings, each with my name at #5 and only 5 persons respond to each of the original 5, that is another $25.00 for me, now those 25 each make 200 MINIMUM posts with my name at #4 and only 5 replies each, I will bring in an additional $125.00! Now, those 125 persons turn around and post the MINIMUM 200 with my name at #3 and only receive 5 replies each, I will make an additional $625.00! OK, now here is the fun part, each of those 625 persons post a MINIMUM 200 letters with my name at #2 and they each only receive 5 replies, that just made me $3,125.00!!! Those 3,125 persons will all deliver this message to 200 newsgroups with my name at #1 and if still 5 persons per 200 newsgroups react I will receive $15,625,00! With an original investment of only $6.00! AMAZING! When your name is no longer on the list, you just take the
latest posting in the newsgroups, and send out another $6.00 to names on the list, putting your name at number 6 again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is: do you realize that thousands of people all over the world are
joining the Internet and reading these articles everyday? JUST LIKE YOU are now!! So, can you afford $6.00 and see if it really works?? I think so... People have said, "what if the plan is played out and no one sends you the money? So what! What are the chances of that happening when
there are tons of new honest users and new honest people who are joining the Internet and newsgroups everyday and are willing to give it a try? Estimates are at 20,000 to 50,000 new users, every day, with thousands of those joining the actual Internet. Remember, play FAIRLY and HONESTLY and this will really work. God bless you!

I'm thinking about trying to get together a neighborhood tree planting around the intersection of 22nd and Bartlett
(The intersection that Cafe Revolution is on.)
I'll be getting in touch with Friends of the Urban Forest as well, but wanted to find out if there were other tree lovers in the neighborhood who want to join in.

Does anyone have any interest in joining in?

Thanks!

I'm sure I heard that there was an organic produce store or at least a store that sells organic produce on 24th near Harrison / Bryant.

I've looked at a few and thought I'd see if others knew.

I usually end up going to Rainbow or Valencia Wholefoods.

Housing Search for my Mom

Hey guys!

I am beginning the process of trying to help my Mom find her own place in SF...

i and one of my brothers and sister all live in the mission, duboce triangle and on market at valencia respectively and both we and her would love to have her close to one or all of our places.

she is disabled and on a fixed income so afford ability is a big issue, but i am hoping if we're flexible and are perhaps able to get some help with affordable housing programs we can find something appropriate for her.

if anyone has any suggestions for programs that offer housing assistance to disabled seniors
or know someone looking to rent a place,
or any other good leads for affordable housing in the private sector for a quiet, respectful and dependable female tenant in her fifties, i'd be very grateful if you would send me a message with the details.

Thanks very much for any help or assistance you can offer.

free and easy way to help homeless children

Please use www.railwaychildren-friends.com/email.asp as a search engine for your internet searches and you'll raise a massive 10p per search! please set it as your homepage for ease of use and start raising money today ;)

You can have a snoop on the charities efforts at www.railwaychildren.org.uk

They are mainly a preventative charity which in terms of being a street child can mean the difference between a world of pain and heartache and a life worth living. Railway children endeavour to meet runaway children before pimps, pushers or abusers do. They are even getting to help the kids in Siberia who are living in the sewers.

80% of their money goes straight to the projects, 17% fundraising, 3% admin etc, so they are a 'fair-enough-trade' charity.

10p a search is phenomenal and it means that the average amount spent per child -£44- will take 440 searches...its fairly usual for me to search 20 items per evening, so that means in 22 evenings that ground level support for a child is reached. www.railwaychildren-friends.com/email.asp

There is a snag with the search page which is that on entering a search it automatically redirects to a normal search page for the results. So inorder that you keep raising money for the charity you have to go back to the root page with the picture of the child and the green bits for each new search subject to raise another all important 10p.

Thanks very much for your efforts and please do enjoy your days. Also if there are any forums that you can forward this message or indeed your own personal email contacts please do send this on, more the better. ;) *

Has an email ever changed your life? Lets do that help for the ones who don't have internet access or in alot of cases protection or food

went to get Thai from Minivan Thai, and saw the street blocked off. Of course, the first thing I immediately wondered if it was a shooting. The folks at the restaurant said it was. It was right in front of Pop's so I asked "A guy in the bar?" They replied "No, a guy on the street."

huh.

On Thursday there was a gang shooting on San Bruno at 25th. They didn't hit anyone. Wonder if it's the same group and they got 'im this time.

Just seven more sleeps.....

It is that time of the year again, when we who are/were south of the Equator get to experience the joy and wonder of Xmas in July, with those north of the Equator.

Come join us at Encounter Studio in Potrero Hill, for a Xmas in July party that will even jiggle Santa's sack of goodies.

As well as the usual Xmas fare, there will be the trimming of the tree, an abundance of blinky lights, plus flying reindeers, and shiny, sparkly, fairy-land stuff hanging around the space.

Join us as we listen to Dr. Yo's most hated Xmas selections and dance the night way with Xmas cheer...... (lots of Xmas cheer)

Watch classic animations with a frosty-beavis-rudolph-yuletide twist, and witness the Annual Lighting of the Xmas Pudding.

Light snacks will be provided. Bring your own Booze-aholics.

Date: Friday, July 27th

Location: Encounter Studio (Email me if you don't know the address)

Time: 8pm - Midnight

So, you have plenty of warning.
Mark it on your calendars and join in the fun!
Tell your friends, neighbors, and Xmas-holics.
It's Xmas in July!
Yay

shooting this morning on valencia

I was walking home from a club at about 3:00 this morning (July 14th, night of July 13th) on Valencia and as I passed 18th (or 19th), we heard about 10 gunshots in a row and looked back to see about 10 guys running onto Valencia. We decided not to stand around (since we were less than a half a block away) and obviously walked faster.

Lots of cop cars and ambulances shortly followed. Has anyone heard more about what happened? I want to know
