the following is from a local org. email. anyone care/opinions? chance to speak up!

I would encourage everyone to attend these meetings. Somes changes proposed are to combine the Folsom and Bryant line on to Harrison St. There is also a plan to add electrical muni lines on 24th. So far not to many people are happy with this.

Help Us Transform Your Muni System

Beginning this April, the Transit Effectiveness Project (TEP) will
share preliminary proposals for Muni service changes and reliability
improvements. The TEP's preliminary proposals aim to transform Muni
into a first-rate transit system that reduces congestion, decreases
pollution and gets people where they want to go efficiently and
safely. Changes have been proposed for most Muni routes ranging from
increased frequency on our busiest lines to route eliminations where
we have the fewest customers.

To help us shape these proposals to make Muni into a transit system
that works for you, we've scheduled 11 community meetings throughout
San Francisco. With your help, a revitalized Muni system will not
only benefit current transit customers, but will improve mobility for
everyone who lives, works in or visits San Francisco. Interpretation
in Cantonese and Spanish will be provided. There will be a Fast Pass
raffle at each meeting.

Typical from my experiences here....seems like mission tribers are lethargic on most community activity except non productive whining and complaining and even that seems like too much trouble these days. In general, I am disappointed all these hipsters and geeks and such are so passive, but just the same, I will post mission type stuff like this with the glimmer of hope someone will take note.
      Yes, I have hope?
      You?

Good for you Mari. Unfortunately, tribe, or at least this one and the ones that I am on these days, seems kinda dead like. But we sure had some history when there was all kinds of activity, including the opposite of apathy.

        but keep on keeping on!
      • 26 Valencia could be cancelled

        Tue, June 10, 2008 - 7:27 AM
You can still email your comments...

Here's a copy of the response email I got after emailing that I didn't want the 26 to be cancelled:

        Dear Patron,

Thank you for your comments regarding the 26-Valencia to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency‘s Transit Effectiveness Project (TEP) regarding preliminary proposals for route and service changes. We will consider all comments and suggestions as part of the process to refine these preliminary proposals with our customers’ input. The earliest any route changes would be implemented would be in July 2009, after an extensive public input and environmental review process.

As part of the outreach process, SFMTA has conducted community meetings in April and May 2008 throughout San Francisco and we have received numerous comments. In addition, we are taking public comments for the initial proposals until June 15, 2008 and customers are encouraged to provide input through the following methods

Share comments by phone. Call the 311 Customer Service Center to share your feedback

Submit written comments. Use the online form available at www.sftep.com/contact

        Send an e-mail at info@sftep.com

For updates in the TEP proposals, please visit our website at www.sftep.com. We look forward to working with you to shape these preliminary proposals to transform Muni into a transit system that works for you.

        Thank you for your input.
